The testing machine mainly consists of three parts: the body, the hydraulic control box, and the force measurement instrument.
1. Body Section
The body of the testing machine is formed by four columns connecting the cylinder body and the upper beam.
On the upper beam of the testing machine, an adjustment screw, a large handwheel, and a nut screw are installed to adjust the no-load height of the machine. The lower end of the screw is equipped with a spherical seat and an upper pressure plate. The lower pressure plate is placed on the piston of the oil cylinder. When the specimen contacts the upper pressure plate, the spherical seat of the upper pressure plate can self-adjust for balance, ensuring the specimen remains level with the upper and lower pressure plates. The lower pressure plate is engraved with alignment lines for the specimen. During testing, the specimen must be aligned with these lines. A dust cover is installed below the lower pressure plate to prevent or reduce dust from entering the oil cylinder during piston movement, which could damage the cylinder or oil seal. A sealing device is installed between the piston and the oil cylinder to prevent oil leakage. However, if a minimal amount of oil leaks during use, an annular oil groove at the top of the cylinder and an oil discharge channel will direct the oil back to the main tank.
2. Hydraulic Section
The hydraulic box of this testing machine mainly consists of an oil tank, oil pump, oil filter, motor, speed valve, and return oil valve. The oil pump is a direct-drive axial five-piston pump. During loading, the loading speed should be manually controlled using the speed valve to regulate the piston’s upward movement (the speed valve and safety valve are integrated). During unloading, the return oil valve can be turned to allow the oil cylinder to descend slowly. The safety valve is preset to an appropriate position before leaving the factory. Under normal use, users should not adjust the safety valve.
